The Royal Opera House Muscat has concluded its Summer Camp 2026 with a joyful final performance of ALICE, featuring the acclaimed Italian theatre company Venti Lucenti. The production brought together approximately 100 participants, including children, performers, university students, educators and volunteers, and featured two Omani actors performing alongside the young cast. Over two weeks, young participants, members of the ROHM Children's Choir, and professional artists worked together to present a vibrant theatrical production.
Freely inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, the project, with direction, set and costume design by Manu Lalli, combined theatre and music in a creative environment where children of all experience levels developed confidence, artistic skills and lasting friendships. This year's programme integrated the ROHM Children's Choir, guided by Vocal Coach Marcella Polidori and pianist Andrea Boi, into the Summer Camp for the first time, strengthening the connection between performance, education and community.
Alongside the stage production, five Omani university students gained practical experience in documentary filmmaking by working with Italian filmmakers Francesca Nesler and Zoe Bellei, reflecting the Royal Opera House Muscat's commitment to developing the next generation of Omani creative professionals.
The Summer Camp reflects a central element of the Royal Opera House Muscat's vision, using the performing arts to create meaningful educational experiences while encouraging international collaboration and cultural exchange. The partnership with Venti Lucenti once again demonstrated how creativity brings people together and enriches everyone involved.
