Muscat, Oman – xx March 2026 – talabat Oman, the leading on-demand delivery platform in
the region, has concluded its Ramadan initiatives with more than OMR 130,000 in charitable
donations collected through its Give Back section. talabat mart sales also surged by 36% during
the first 19 days of the Holy Month when compared to the previous year. The company also
rolled out a series of initiatives to recognise riders and support the wider delivery community.
During the Holy Month, over 18,000 users contributed through the talabat app’s ‘Give Back’
section to support local charity partners. Among them, Al Bahja Orphan’s Society registered the
largest number of donors and received the most donations of OMR 37,778. These figures
highlight the growing role of digital platforms in enabling accessible and scalable giving, with
100% of the donations directly distributed to the partner charities.
On the digital front, talabat mart sales have gone up by 36% during the first 19 days of Ramadan
compared to the same period last year with the most active hours recorded between 4pm and
5pm. Highlighting talabat mart's diverse product availability, consumers relied on the
application for homecooked iftars as top product sales included cucumbers, tomatoes, herbs
and other ingredients with the highest one time order registered at OMR 194.17.
“During the Holy Month, we see how charitable giving becomes a more integral part of how
customers engage with our platform, alongside meeting their everyday needs through services
such as talabat mart,” said Stephane Berton, Managing Director of talabat Oman. “This
increased reliance allows us to support our riders while strengthening the wider delivery
ecosystem during peak demand.”
Furthermore, talabat Oman rolled out initiatives for its rider community across the nation,
recognising their dedication during one of the busiest periods of the year.
Due to their exceptional performance and commitment to the service, 40 riders were
rewarded with a journey to Mecca to perform Umrah. talabat Oman also hosted iftar
celebrations for 450 riders in Muscat and Salalah. The gatherings created time for riders to
break their fast together, reflecting the spirit of Ramadan and the value of community during
the month.
Support also extended to riders delivering beyond city centers. A total of 1,500 riders in outer
cities received free meals during the Holy Month. This effort supported riders spending long
hours on the road, ensuring they had access to meals while serving customers.
